The 48th International Ticketing Association Annual Conference
The VisitOne team is excited to not only be attending and exhibiting at the INTIX conference in New Orleans, but to also have been asked to present a session on how to use the interval or intermission to improve revenues without impacting the operational flow or customer experience.
The INTIX annual conference is a chance for global venue leaders, sports teams, arts organizations, and ticketing/tech innovators to come together and discover new ideas, share learnings and network with peers. INTIX as an association has long championed educational program tracks focused on 5 core pillars: Technology & Innovation, Data & Fan Analytics, Security & Risk Operations, Revenue Generation & Strategy and Leadership & Culture (IDEA). We are delighted to be able to contribute to a number of those strands with the session Intermission Impact: Improving Revenue, Flow and Audience Experience During the Short Interval Between Acts
Session details
On Thursday 28th January 2027 at 9.30am the session is part of the 48th International Ticketing Association Annual Conference tracks of revenue, marketing and technology.
The interactive session will explore how venues can turn the interval from a pressure point into a designed customer journey, examining how integrated pre-orders, timed messaging, bar collection logic and operational planning can reduce queues, increase spend and improve the experience for both pre-order and walk-up customers.
The session will be presented by:
Phillip Markwick, CEO of VisitOne whose background includes working at the intersection of commerce, audience experience, and systems architecture. Phillip grew up in a family-run cinema, giving him first-hand understanding of the challenges and opportunities in live entertainment venues.
Fiona Yates-Dutton, Implementation and Support Specialist at VisitOne whose extensive box office experience, includes introducing two new membership schemes and leading a CRM migration alongside the launch of numerous integrated systems.
Kelvin Charles, Events and Hospitality Manager at Sheffield Theatres, the UK’s largest producing theatre complex, Kelvin oversees hospitality, events, catering and commercial activity across the busy multi-venue organisation.
The intermission is one of the most compressed commercial moments in live entertainment. In just 15 to 20 minutes, audiences want speed and convenience, bars need manageable order flow, front-of-house teams need calm public spaces, and leadership wants stronger ancillary revenue. Fiona will draw on her experience at Storyhouse and Kelvin from his experiences at Sheffield Theatres.
