Storyhouse Case Study
Chester’s Storyhouse were so impressed with the smooth VisitOne interface for digital membership cards they implemented all VisitOne features including pre-ordering and secure digital tickets.
Storyhouse is an independent arts centre and creative hub in Chester, bringing together a theatre, studio, cinema and library, alongside a summer open-air theatre in Grosvenor Park. Its year-round programme and mix of spaces create many ways for audiences to visit, participate and connect with the organisation.
The venue’s starting point was a practical membership need. During pandemic closures, the charity launched a supporter card. Storyhouse wanted members to be able to identify themselves easily and access benefits across the venue, while keeping the process connected to its ticketing and bar systems. As it reviewed its technology, integration with Spektrix and a simple experience for both audiences and staff were central considerations.
That initial requirement opened up a wider opportunity: a connected digital journey could bring membership cards together with tickets, entry scanning and drinks pre-orders. The case study explores how Storyhouse introduced these services in phases, taking account of different teams and spaces, and how the digital wallet could support benefits that span ticket purchases, hospitality and attendance.
Learn how the venue approached integration with Spektrix and Tevalis and the implementation phasing, and how its original search for a digital membership card grew into a broader rethink of the audience experience.
