Octagon Theatre Case Study
The Octagon Theatre upgraded to VisitOne’s personalised and integrated platform to deepen audience engagement and optimise revenue by connecting Spektrix and Square.
At the heart of Bolton, the Octagon Theatre creates and presents bold, popular theatre across two auditoria. Its offer extends beyond the stage: three bars serve audiences, including a space that operates as a café and restaurant. The venue also sells tickets for events taking place elsewhere through its box office.
This varied programme and mix of spaces called for customer communications and services that could adapt to the event, performance and audience. The Octagon was looking to bring table bookings into its existing bar pre-order process. Orders reach the bar at curtain-up. The theatre also wanted to connect these services with mobile ticket delivery, while working with the systems its teams already relied on, including Spektrix and Tevalis.
The case study explores how a more flexible digital journey could support the practical details of each visit: explaining when orders are confirmed, helping audiences receive relevant information for press nights or relaxed performances, and ensuring tickets clearly reflect events held away from the theatre. It also considers the opportunity to connect audiences with membership and donation options.
Discover how the Octagon shaped a solution around its operational routines, varied events and the different information audiences need before they arrive.
